There is so much we can tell you so you learn how to better understand that loved one who has low vision, this website wants to help family and friends in the process of dealing with someone who has low vision and we believe full sighted people need to learn a lot about us and that way the way they look at us will change.

How much does it cost to become a member of lowvisionfriends.com?
Absolutely nothing. Our website and all its services will remain FREE of charge for the next six months, until June 31st, 2006 when we might have to charge you a small annual fee to remain a member.
We have the goal to help people and that is why we are not a paid service at the moment, but we recognize that to maintain a large webportal like this one with lots of useful and fresh content and to update it and to have its content hosted in a great server where we have it, that is reliable, costs some money we can afford to keep it free for awhile, then either we will find Sponsorships or in the meantime we will have to charge a very small fee annually to keep it goin and we want to be very upfront about it.
We are aware that our website IS different than others, we have a more ambitious goal and that is to change how low vision people are percepted around the world.
That is a great goal but a challenging one we face with joy and self-confidence.

Will lowvisionfriends.com be available in other languages?
Definitively. We expect to have an Spanish and Chinese version available in the future. However, that will take more than a year because of the amount of work such endeavour demands.

Yes. Simply go to Low Vision Diseases and click on the diseases that have link , click on any of them and soon you will see the people who are signed with us, so in the Retinitis Pigmentosa Index you will be able to click on RP Community and see there who's there. Contacting that person will be extremely easy and FREE!!!

Yes, in fact we encourage any of you to write us if you have a story to tell, an experience to share or you have suggestions regarding anything on this site. We will answer all emails in an average 24 hours time.

Of course. No matter how little you see there is always a job you can find, and best of all, through our Low Vision Guide you will be able to find one, or at least will guide you to a site where you can find something, do not despair, you will be employed soon!!!
